About Us

Our Story

The Covid-19 outbreak forced the May 2020 session to be cancelled, meaning many students were left feeling very disappointed and discouraged. Rather than allowing these feelings to take over, we decided to use the extensive work and revision we had prepared over the two-year program. We feel it is very worthwhile to share our tips, experiences, and revision materials for four designated courses. Using both a combination of our experience and the materials we provided through the two-year course, we were able to concoct primary revision tools as well as advice on how to tackle the workloads of each course and the revision required for them. Working on this project has been very rewarding for the two of us, and has ultimately made the best out of a disheartening time.

About Us

Who we are

Haya

I decided to enrol in the IB program to challenge my self academically, mentally and socially. Considering it was a two-year program, I was aware it was going to be a demanding and strenuous stretch, however, I remained eager and ready.

After a lot of thought, I opted for a range of more interdisciplinary subjects, including psychology, geography and biology. Looking back, I would make no changes to these choices, as I truly found the content compelling, but extremely useful in a variety of ways too.

I intend to take the rewarding tools and skills that I have developed and apply them to an undergraduate degree in Global Sustainable Development.

I chose the IB program as it was a curriculum that both of my siblings had taken and had benefited from in several ways. Many of the teachers at my school often discussed the ways in which the IB would help students in their future endeavours, hence it remained very appealing to me. I found the course extremely rewarding and challenging at the same time, which is why I would ultimately recommend it to others. As I reflect on my studies, I have been able to recognise that the IB granted me academic and social skills, which I believe will accompany in my future career choices.

I hope to pursue International Business Management in my university studies and was able to develop various skills and tactics during the IB program to bolster the fundamental concepts needed for a successful future in business.

FAQ's

What difference does this website have than using a tutor?

Rather than 'teaching' other students syllabus material, this website will act as a resource to accompany them when choosing how to revise for their examinations. Having created this material as students, we feel it will appeal to current learners more. The revision material is based on the successful work of ex-IB graduates. This website also intends to aid IB learners through valuable advice regarding far more than simply gaining a 7 in each of their courses. We hope to benefit learners in a way that they feel supported through all aspects of the IB diploma; including the necessary skills for CAS, time management, how to remain social, etc. We like to see IB aid as a 'guide' for students, allowing them to reach their full potential when working through such a rigorous program.

Why is it important to get a student perspective when studying the IB?

It remains vital to gain insight from student experience when completing the IB program. Whilst teacher influence certainly is important to the physical learning of various courses, student2student support allows for relatable advice and revision material when further understanding this "physical" learning.

Furthermore, often students will feel more understood when working with existing IB students as their experiences will remain similar to one another. We passionately feel that current learners will benefit from our experience, advice, and tips.

*However, it is important to stress the emphasis on student. These examples and guides are all created by students and have not been revised by a professional. Nevertheless, they have been created using maximum effort,  but please do be aware that does not eliminate any potential error. We would also like to stress that IB aid serves to guide students toward better revision styles, rather than teaching syllabus content.*

Other than the revision materials and advice, is tutoring also offered?

We are currently working towards providing sophisticated and beneficial revision material, along with more general advice. We would first like to finalise this form of IB aid and gather feedback from students. As of now, our Instagram (@ib_aid_) acts as a platform for students to ask questions, get weekly FAQ updates and receive demonstrational videos of voted topics for revision.

Any form of private tutoring will NOT be offered. IB aid will not be providing students with undue assistance. In other words, IB aid will not help students when creating their own assessed work - this is strictly forbidden by the IB.

Why does IB aid use GoogleDrive in their subject-specific tabs?

GoogleDrive is a useful tool that IB aid uses to store revision material examples. Considering it was this tool that we used throughout the entirety of the IB program, we feel it is easier and more accessible to students as all revision material can be visually categorised. This also allows students to download the examples for their own use.

More information is provided on the 'GoogleDrive' tab above, which demonstrates how to use this tool when revising with IB aid. You can also find a short video explaining how to use GoogleDrive on that page.

What

do

teachers Say?

"I’ve known both students since they were in middle school.  Even back then, they were conscientious, detail-oriented, and hard-working students.  Now, collectively, they have received offers from some of the UK's top-ranked universities. This is a testament to how seriously they take their academics and the commitment they’ve shown to their courses over the years.  By sharing their coursework notes and materials with others, they hope to provide some invaluable information to students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program."

Disclaimer

Please be aware that IB aid serves to guide students toward better revision styles. It also offers personal experience from ex-IB students, allowing information to become both accessible and relatable to current students.

Due to IB guidelines, no undue assistance will be given on assessed coursework. The purpose of IB aid is to offer insight on how we, as students, have approached learning in the IB program. The provided revision guides act as samples and therefore may be used as inspiration for students' individual revision.
