Top Tips for TOK
1.
Only choose to work with AOKs that you feel you are knowledgable in.
2.
Ensure your evidence would make sense to someone younger than you. TOK is not about how sophisticated your writing is, it needs to make sense above all.
3.
Always emphasise your stance, you may feel your point is clear, but others may not recognise it as easily. Both the TOK essay and presentation require a stance.
4.
Do not use hypotheticals! This is the biggest TOK don't. Use concrete examples in all TOK work.
5.
Refrain from using overused or badly used examples - ie. flat earth society, contradictions to world war two.
6.
Do not structure your argument by examples, the examples serve to solidify your argument, not the other way around.
7.
Stay on track - whether this is the presentation or the essay, refrain from sidetracking. You will lose focus points here. Ensure you are making relevant points that BUILD your stance(s).
