IB Aid's  Summer Feature

APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS AFTER THEIR FIRST YEAR OF THE IB DIPLOMA

The summer between IB1 and IB2 can be daunting for students. IB aid has created checklists for this transitional time in hopes to encourage optimum productivity.
Main Focus Areas

Depending on the school and course, some IAs may not have been introduced. For that reason, we are placing the IA's of less importance.

*Please note that this is specific to student and course.

  • extended essay
  • catch up on CAS reflections
  • plan/finish TOK essay or presentation (depending on which came first)
  • plan ahead for the following year to raise initial teacher predictions
    • Depending on the school, often teachers give students an idea of where they are by the end of first year. â€‹

IB aid has created three versions of a "summer checklist" depending on how much available time you have. This way, you have manageable and realistic goals for the summer that you are more likely to meet.

Remember

Pencil and notepad
Consider making a schedule for every two weeks! Set yourself three main objectives per week to keep you on track.
You can still have a summer and be on track. Ensure you are still having fun and balancing your studies. No matter how much you do during the summer, your final year will always be stressful, the idea is to get ahead of this stress and create a more manageable amount of workload. Working in the summer also leaves more time for proofreading later in the year.

As always, don't hesitate to contact us with any questions using the form below. Keep up to date with our Instagram as we will have several summer features on that platform too.
